- Summary: Moriah Baptist Chapel was built in 1856, by architect T. Jones and builder D. Jones of Merthyr. The chapel is built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a gable-entry plan and central doorway. The Chapel itself is two storey, with entry to the gallery via stairs located either side of the entrance and the pulpit at the rear of the chapel. Around the chapel there is a complex of rooms and a corridor to an adjoining Sunday school building. The Sunday school building is situated to the left of the chapel and positioned lower down the hill than the chapel and ther are several stair cases indicating that there must be at least two levels to this building. From the plan there are five rooms on one level but the number of rooms on any other level is unknown.

There is then a complex of rooms located around the chapel. The first two rooms are located behind the chapel and entered via a door in the rear wall behind the pulpit, there is also a stair case in one of these rooms either going to a second floor or a basement. There is then a corridor that is connected to the adjoining Sunday school building.
The Sunday school building is to the left of the chapel and positioned lower down the hill than the chapel, it is possible on two storeys. It can be entered via a door in the chapel on the left wall or by a entry hall at the front of the building to the right. There are several stair cases indicating that there must be at least two levels to this building. From the plan there are five rooms aside from the adjoining corridors, on one level; the number of rooms on any other level is unknown.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
