- Summary: Zoar Independent Chapel was built in 1801, rebuilt in 1825 and again in 1842. The present chapel, dated 1842 was designed by architect Benjamin Owen and builder D. Richards, and the final phase of re-building, in 1884, by architect Jacob Rees of Rhondda and builder D. Jenkins of Merthyr. The chapel is Vernacular in style with an integral porch with entrances to the left and right hand side of the central porch position. There are two doors on both sides, one straight up stairs to the gallery and the other to the ground floor chapel. The pulpit is situated on the rear wall with a possible organ room behind and the gallery is octagonal in layout. Zoar is now Grade 2 Listed

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
