- Nprn: 97212
- Summary: Built 1822 after 1878 the Chapel had ceased to function. By 1995 only a commemorative plaque was left. Status [2002]: demolished.
- Description: "If we make our way to either Woodlands Road or to Pant Lane at "the top of Marford" and stroll along the footpath which links the two, we'll find a row of cottages in which there is a former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel.........
"The cottages off Pant Lane date from the C18 and would have fronted the old coach road as it passed theough the woods. The later inauguration of a chapel took place in 1822, according to the sandstone plaque on the front of the property, which reads as follows:
""1822: Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. Mine House Shall be Called An House of Prayer for All People. Isaiah Chapter 56, verse 7".
"The ground-floor rooms originally extended to the full height of the cottage and the entrance door was in the middle of its frontage. The cottage is now a two-storeyed dwelling house" (extract from R D Hutchison, Marford: a present from the past (...: R D Hutchison, 1994)).
"The tablet used to be high on the wall of the chapel.....[The chapel] was of grey stone, with a blue slate roof" (extract from J Colin Jones, Gresford village and church: the history of a border settlement (1995), p.80). - Built: 1822 Source:Jones, Colin

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
