- Summary: Watford Independent Chapel was built in 1739, modified in 1842 and the interior remodelled in 1877 to the design of architect Thomas Thomas of Landore. Watford was then rebuilt/extended in 1890, in the Simple Round-Headed style, with two storeys, a gable entry plan and gallery. The chapel was renovated in 1938 and again in 1962. Watford is now Grade 2 Listed as a late nineteenth century chapel of special interest because of it's association with the Reverend David Williams and the early history of non-conformity in South Wales. By 2002 the congrgation were Caerphilly Evangelicals.
RCAHMW, June 2010 - Description: Chapel built 1737/9, walls 2 feet thick, oak roof trusses. Rebuilt/modified 1842 & again 1877 to the design of Rev T Thomas of Mumbles. Enlarged/rebuilt 1891; building style is simple round-headed style, gable entry type. 1950 Chapel owned shop and 2 cottages demolished to make a car park. Grade II Listed. Status (2002): in use by Caerphilly Evangelicals.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
