- Summary: Bethel Independent Chapel was first built in 1848 to the design of architect Benjamin Owens of Merthyr, then rebuilt in 1866 by architect Thomas Thomas of Landore. Bethel was rebuilt again in 1894, this time by architect John Henry Phillips of Caerphilly in the Gothic style with a gable-entry plan. This Bethel closed in 1990 and a fourth smaller chapel built in 1992.
RCAHMW, June 2010 - Description: Chapel first built 1848 to the design of Benjamin Owens of Merthyr. Rebuilt/modified 1866 to the design of Rev Thomas Thomas of Landore. Rebuilt/modified again 1895 to the design of John H Phillips of Caerphilly. Built in the Gothic style, gable entry type. Status(2000): unclear. Demolished & smaller chapel built 1992 cost £32,268 and later addition of the vestry £16,856.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
