- Summary: A Presbyterian Meeting House was first built on this site in 1698. High Street Unitarian Chapel was built in 1847, in the Gothic style of the gable-entry type, to the design of architect Joseph Gwillt of London. This chapel was fire damaged in 1987 and rebuilt from the shell in 1991. High Strret Chapel is now Grade 2 Listed and still in chapel use.
RCAHMW, May 2010 - Description: Built 1846-7 on site of 1698 Presbyterian Meeting House. Rebuilt 1991 after fire 1987 (GGAT). Site of 1698 Presbyterian Meeting House. Chapel built 1846-7 in Gothic style, gable entry type, to the design of Joseph Gwillt of London. Fire damage 1987 & rebuilt from shell 1991. Building is listed Grade 2. Status (1995): in chapel use.
Stone-built church in Gothic style, with aisles & gable-end loggia-entry plan (now aisles blocked & loggia enclosed), pulpit opposite entry.
The façade of rock-faced stone & Bath stone dressings has pinnacled corner piers, flanking loggia of 3 open 4-centered arches with 5-light perpendicular tracery window over.
Interior has 5-bay arch-braced tie-beam king-post & strut trusses of steel. Arcade walls of 4-centered arches on compound piers of iron, support clerestorey of 4-light perpendicular tracery windows above.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
