- Summary: Soar Baptist Chapel was first built in 1859 and was rebuilt in 1873. This Chapel was built in a mixed style consisting of a Simple Classical façade with two columns dressing the ends of the gable wall, and Simple-Round Headed windows to the upper storey. The lean-to porch had two segmented arch widows and doorway. The addition of a hall/Sunday school to the right-hand side of the chapel meant the roof being extended down to also cover the hall, making the hall a 'lean-to' building streamlined into the façade of the chapel. The entrance to the hall was via a gable positioned, pointed -headed porch, with a side entry. The windows of the hall were also simple-round headed. Soar Chapel closed in the early 1980's and by 2004 had been demolished and a house built on the site.
RCAHMW, April 2010. - Description: Chapel built 1859 & rebuilt 1873. This Chapel is of a mixed style, it consists of simple classical façade with two columns dressing the ends of the gable wall, yet with simple-round headed windows. The lean to porch has two segmented arch widows and doorway.
The addition of the hall/Sunday school to the right hand side of the chapel has meant that the roof has been extended down to also cover the hall, making the hall a 'lean-to' building that has been stream lined into the façade of the chapel. Entrance to the hall is via a gable positioned arch, but with a side entry. The roof of the porch is pointed head as opposed to 'lean-to' like the chapel porch. The windows of the hall are also simple-round headed.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
