- Summary: Salem Independent Chapel was first built on the site as a timber chapel in 1836. This was rebuilt in 1841, modified in 1890 and remodelled in 1899 with the earlier facade being retained. Salem is built in the Simple Rounded-Headed style, with two door entry to the centre of the long side of a hipped box plan,. The round-headed windows have marginal glazing and there is a large hall built to the left of the chapel. A Sunday School was added in 1900. Salem is now Grade 2 Listed.
RCAHMW, April 2010 - Description: Timber chapel first built 1836/7 on the other side of the river. First chapel on current site built 1841. 1846. Modified 1890 & remodelled again 1899 with earlier facade retained. Built in a simple rounded-headed style, with two door entry and a large hall built to the left of the chapel
Sunday School added 1900. Building is listed Grade 2. Status (2004): in chapel use.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
