- Nprn: 8835
- Summary: Bethel Baptist Chapel was first built in 1803 and rebuilt in 1832. By 1997 the chapel had been largely demolished.
RCAHMW, March 2010 - Description: Chapel first built 1803; rebuilt/modified 1832. Status (1997): disused [largely demolished?].
Baptist chapel shown on the OS 1:2500 map of 1900 as lying to the east of the cottage known as Pen-y-traeth. The builiding has since been demolished. The foundations, disturbed by the creation of a recent access, are partly visible, although not enough survives above ground to allow any detailed description. Map evidence suggests that the main axis of the building was orientated northeast-southwest, that it was rectangular with a small rectangular wing against the north end of the north-west elevation and a small rectangular entrance porch at the north-west.
To the north of the site lies a rectangular building of corrugated iron; to the south a brick built rectangular structure - reputedly a former bakery: pitched slate roof and single brick stack projecting from the north side. The site is fronted by the rubble built sea wall.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
