- Summary: Bethesda Independent Chapel was built in 1841 and rebuilt in 1889. The present chapel, dated 1889, is built in the Italianate Classical style with a gable-entry plan. The chapel has a pedimental/gable-entry facade with blind arcading, a centre round-arched doorway with fanlight and late nineteenth century panelled door and flanking round-arched windows.
RCAHMW, January 2010 - Description: The previous chapel was built in 1841/2. The present chapel, in an Italianate classical style, dates from 1888-1889, when the ca. 1841 chapel was sold (BCS database); plaque on present chapel inscribed: "Bethesda/ 1888"; present chapel with pedimental/gable- entry facade with blind arcading, as in O M Roberts's chapels, in tympanum, with cornice moulding of latter rising as arch over centre window triplet; centre round-arched doorway with fanlight and late-C19 panelled door, with gable over; flanking round-arched windows. It was in use as a chapel in 1998

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
