RCAHMW, January 2010 - Description: A Church was formed and built in 1853, and a gallery was later inserted. The chapel was rebuilt in 1898 (at the cost of £500) in the Simple Round-Headed style, as a gable entry type. "The church at Howey was able to give their minister but a small salary; therefore he was obliged to devote a good deal of his time to the management of his farm in order to obtain a livelihood" (Source: John Jones (1895), quoted in Sinclair & Fenn, Marching to Zion). Status (2001): in Chapel use.
The church was formed in 1853 (2001 Llawlyfer of Undeb Bedyddwyr Cymru) and built in the same year (plaque), [& opened?] in July (BCS/BGC); a gallery later inserted (J B Sinclair & R W D Fenn, Marching to Zion: Radnorshire chapels (1990)). Rebuilt in 1898 (Sinclair & Fenn, op. cit.). My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
