- Summary: The first Preseigne Methodist Chapel was built in 1810 in St David Street. This was rebuilt in 1867 and a hall and vestry added in 1888. The present chapel, dated 1888, is built in the Gothic style of the gable entry type. The building is now Grade 2 Listed.

A chapel was built in 1810 (1851 Religious Census; BCS/BGC), in St David Street. It was rebuilt in 1861 (plaque) or 1867 (Cadw); building works also of 1870, costing ca. £600 and seating 300 (BCS/BGC); a hall (Cadw) or vestry (H. Brooksby) was built in 1888, the foundation/ memorial stone to which was laid on 8 June (date plaque, illustrated in J B Sinclair & R W D Fenn, Marching to Zion: Radnorshire chapels (1990)). Status (1996): in religious use.

Set back from the street with a walled and railed forecourt.
Dated 1867 (parchment scroll over doorway) and 1888 (hall).
Simple Gothic gable end with advanced centre bay. Coursed rubble and freestone dressings, slate roof behind gable parapets with moulded kneelers and bracket eaves. Trefoil-headed lancet to gable over centrepiece flanked by buttresses with set-offs, ball-flower cornice. Y-traceried window over cusped centre doorway, hood moulds, boarded door strapwork hinges. Plain lancets to sides and flanked elevations, lozenge-pattern glazing with stained glass to centre window heads only. Lower gable end in similar style (dated 1888) to church hall on right, Sunday School attached to E end, blocked window in gable over.
Stone forecourt walls with pinnacled gatepiers, iron work railings and gate with quatrefoil motif.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
