- Summary: Glasbury Congregational Chapel was built in 1691. The chapel was rebuilt in 1866, o the design of architect Thomas Thomas of Landore, in the Gothic style of the gable-entry type and with two flanking turrets. A manse was added in 1905. Glasbury is now Grade 2 Listed.

In 2006, planning permission was sought to convert the chapel for residential use,
ERB, 2006 - Description: Cause begun 1682 & chapel built 1691. The church [re?]formed & rebuilt 1866 in Gothic style to the design of Thomas Thomas of Landore. Manse added 1905. Built in the Gothic style, gable entry type. A prominent feature of this Chapel is the flanking turrets. Status (2001): in chapel use.
1866 Chapel in Gothic revival style, situated on village green. Originally chapel & detached Chapel house (PRN 19843) belonged to Villiamy estate. Datestone suggests an original Congregational chapel present from 1682.
Rectangular plan, gable slate roof with decorative ridge tiles.
Dressed bull-nosed stone throughout with quoins on turrets and raised stone pilasters. Ashlar finishings to apertures.
Four buttressed ends to main chapel body.
Main façade - E gable end. Two gabled porches frame two pairs of lancet doors. Porches have slated roof & decorative ridge tiles, weatherboarding, stone flagged floors. Buttressess rising to pinnacles to either side of main façade. Central bay has three pinnacles & blind gothic stone arch with worn datestone.
Fenestration. Two 6-pane windows with gothic tracery above porches.
Two 3-pane lancets, central column. All windows have glazing bars & are set in dressed stone arches with dripstones.
W gable end - no features.
S & E elevations - identical fenestration. Four 12-pane lancets with gothic tracery.
Several rings located in exterior for tying up horses.
Interior. Two internal porches with stairs leading up to gallery. Rectangular t & g panelled doors to chapel & gallery on both sides.
Chapel interior. Plastered walls painted pale green above dado panelling. T & g floor. Ceiling, plastered surround with central rectangular t & g panel containing circular plastered motif.
All apertures set in plain arches.
Two rows separate panelled bench pews. Estimated seating 200.
Sedd fawr possibly removed to give more space. Raised platform communion area. Pulpit E wall below classical moulded plaster reredos. Striaght panelled front to pulpit with gothic niches. Two sets of stairs lead up to pulpit gallery, balustraded arches to L & R of pulpit.
Single central cast iron column supports gallery from chapel. Straight wood panelled front. Raked bench pews.
Two organs to L of pulpit.
1. D.W.Karn. Woodstock. Canada, still in use.
2. Exposed pipes. W.Bell. Guelph. Ontario. Imported by James G. Stagg.
Stone wall surrounds chapel. Wrought iron railings above wall to front. Pair of heavy wrought iron gates in stone pillars.
"May Cottage" to N of chapel, built as manse in 1905, cost 212. Now privately owned. Originally two-up, two-down. Altered 1965. Vernacular style, red brick with yellow brick trimmings. Rectangular entrance door, sash windows to either side. Three sash windows 1st floor.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
