- Summary: Salem Baptist Chapel was built in 1786 enlarged in 1821, remodelled in 1841 and rebuilt in 1885. The present chapel, dated 1885, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style of the short-wall entry type. Salem is now Grade 2 Listed.

Ty Capel adjoining Salem Baptist chapel was also listed Grade II on 05/01/1996 under Cadw ref. 41/F/29(5); Cadw rec. no. 17044.
CADW Exterior
Chapel and manse, founded in 1786 and remodelled 1841; of rendered rubble, with slate roofs, hipped to the chapel. This is basically symmetrical with single-storey hipped-roofed outer porches and 2 multi-pane central windows with moulded entablature and arched heads; framed date plaque inset between these, modern boarded doors. Projecting forward at L, and overlapping the main block slightly is a rendered, gabled wing with longer left-hand roof pitch; plain bargeboards and wooden finial. 16-pane recessed sash window with simple stucco architrave; beneath this, a passage leading to the graveyard at the rear. Three tall 12-pane near-flush windows to the rear with gently cambered heads. - Remodelled: 1841 Source:Cadw

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
