- Summary: Froncysyllte Methodist Chapel was built in 1860 and rebuilt in 1871 to the design of architect Richard Owen of Liverpool, in the Sub-Classical style with a gable entry plan. Broncysyllte was a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel until at least the time of the OS 1/2500 Revision of 1897-9 but by the time of the Royal Commission Census of 1911 it had a Calvinistic Methodist congregation. The chapel appears to have been known by several names: Capel Broncysylltau; Gorsffwyfa; Beth-Hogla and Capel y Fron. By 2003 the chapel had been converted for residential use.
RCAHMW, December 2009 - Description: Broncysyllte Chapel was built in 1860/1. In 1871 it was rebuilt to the design of Richard Owen of Liverpool, in the Sub-Classical style, to a gable entry plan. It is shown partially complete at the time of the first OS 1/2500 survey. It was a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel until at least the time of the OS 1/2500 Revision of 1897-9 but byt the time of the Royal Commission Census of 1911 it was in the hands of the Calvinistic Methodists. It appears to have been known by several names: Capel Broncysylltau; Gorsffwyfa; Beth-Hogla; Capel y Fron. Status (2003): residential.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
