- Summary: Olivet Congregational Chapel was originally built in 1848 and rebuilt in 1881 in Gothic style with a gable-entry plan. From 1870 the chapel was described as an Independent Methodist and from 1895 as a Congregationalist chapel. Olivet closed as a Congregationalist chapel in 1956 and by 2000 was known as Olivet Christadelphian Church.
RCAHMW, December 2009 - Description: The chapel was originally built in 1848. It was rebuilt in 1881 in Gothic style, gable-entry plan. The main gable-end façade has double buttressed corners and similar to wide porch reached via steps. There is a large rose window in the gable with copings and cross finial. The 4-bay side-elevations have round arched windows with buttresses between. 1870-5 it was described as Independent Methodist and 1895-7 as Congregationalist. It closed as a Congregationalist chapel in 1956 and in 2000 was known as Olivet Christadelphian Church. Status (2000): chapel.
On 1873 map, shown as Methodist Chapel (Independent) with long wall to main road. On 1912 and 1937 maps, shown with N. side along raliway line, and narrow wall and porch to road, i.e. evidently rebuilt by 1912, on same site, but with different orientation. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
