- Summary: A Sunday school was started at Lletty Howell in 1811, and a Sunday school chapel was built in 1818/19 and replaced in 1845 with a new building on a slightly different site. The first Maes Glas Methodist Chapel was built in 1874, although the Sunday school also continued. The chapel was built as a gable entry type in the Romanesque style. By 2006, Maes Glas chapel had been demolished.
In 1905 (Royal Commission on the Church of England and other Religious Bodies in Wales and Monmouthshire) there were 700 sittings in the chapel which was valued at £2100. - Description: 1. Chapel built ca. 1874 (1876/7); building style is Romanesque, gable entry type. Status (2006): demolished.
2. Additional note
This Calvinistic Methodist Chapel replaces two earlier chapels of the same name, one now a pair of semi-detached houses, the other used as a Sunday School. (NPRNs 30634 & 306346). Status (2002): demolished.
The Sunday School reverted to a chapel after 2001, but this has also now closed (2003).

3. The main gable-end facade has hip roofed wings, full-height sash windows with margin-glazing flanking a raised pediment defined by pilasters. The pediment has a circular ventilation opening above three sash windows and a porch, which has a segmental arched doorway.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
