- Summary: Services initially held in houses in the village, and a church was established in 1802, comprising 11 members. Soar Independent Chapel was built in 1803, enlarged in 1830 and rebuilt in 1892.
The present chapel, dated 1892, is built in the Gothic style of the gable entry type, to the design of architect Thomas Edward Morgan of Aberystwyth. Central door below pared gothic windows and an oculus set within a large recessed arch. Tall gothic windows on either side of door, Façade of stone with yellow brick detailing. Venilation window in gable.
Large enough to house a congregation of 360 in 1905 (Royal Commission on the Church of England and Other Religious Buildings in Wales and Monmouthshire census), when it was valued at £2200. - Description: Cause begun 1801 & chapel built 1803; enlarged 1830(1837) & rebuilt/modified 1892. Building style is Gothic, gable entry type. Status (1998): in chapel use.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
