- Summary: The cause in Llangwyrfon started in 1740 at Tref-y-clawdd farm near Trefenter. Tabor Methodist Chapel was built in 1769 and rebuilt in 1789 when a revival added many to the congregation.Further revivals were recorded in 1796 and 1804, adding 200 and 150 to the congregation respectively and the chapel was enlarged for the second time, and the chapel was built agin in 1819. A further revival added 200 more to the congregation in 1822. A Sunday school was started in 1804.
The present chapel, dated 1819, is built in the Vernacular style of the long-wall entry type. Constructed of stone, there are two central, round-headed, pulpit windows, and lateral entry doors, and two small, square gallery windows to the first floor. To the right rear is an attached chapel house.
In 1905 (Royal Commission on the Church of England and other Religious Bodies in Wales and Monmouthshire) there were 360 sittings in the chapel which was valued at £1,500. - Description: Cause begun 1740; chapel built 1769 (or post 1800); Rebuilt 1789, 1819. Building style is vernacular, long-wall entry type. Status (1998): in chapel use.
Present bulding described as a C19 Methodist chapel with attached house at rear; stone with slated roof; sashes and 2 round-headed windows; plain square-framed doorways; 2-storey house with brick stacks, and casement and sash windows (information from Welsh Office & MHLG Provisional list for Aberystwyth R.D., surveyed May 1962). - Built: Post 1800 Source:1851 Census

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
