- Summary: Horeb Independent Chapel was built in 1784 as an offshoot from Pantycreuddyn. The first minister was Mr Benjamin Jones, followed by Mr Johnathon Jones of Rhydybont. In 1805 it was decided they should have their own minister and they called Mr Thomas Griffiths in 1808. When he arrived the membership numbered 218, but within a few years they had grown to 3000 and the church was doubled in size in 1826. It measured 40ft by 27ft. It had to be extended again in 1832, when a branch was also built at Bwlchygroes. . The chapel was rebuilt again in 1879 in the Classical style of the gable entry type, with a prominent feature being a large arch in the façade.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
