- Summary: The cause began in 1744 at Coedybrain, and the first Pensarn Chapel was built in 1795 on land from Tirgwyn farm. Llewelyn Parry, Gurnos gave a lease of 99 years for 8s. A year. It was subsequently enlarged in 1806 and rebuilt in 1833. There is a certificate dating to 1853, confirming the building as a place of worship, and the chapel was altered again in 1875.The land for the chapel was bought for £172 10s.
The present chapel, dated 1875, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style of the long-wall entry type. By 1998 the building was no longer in chapel use and by 2004 the interior had fallen into dereliction.
In 1905 (Royal Commission on the Church of England and other Religious Bodies in Wales and Monmouthshire) there were 800 sittings in the chapel which was valued at £400.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
