- Summary: The Methodist cause in borth started in 1803-6. Gerlan was orginally called Libanus, a 'Chapel of the Sailors', but when joined with Soar in 1969 it was renamed Gerlan.
Gerlan Methodist Chapel was built in 1877, in the Gothic style, to the design of architect David Williams of Cemmaes. The chapel was then rebuilt in 1892, in the Sub-Classical style of the gable entry type.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
