- Summary: Baladeulyn Methodist Chapel was built in 1865 and rebuilt in 1900, in the Romanesque style of the long-wall entry type, to the design of architect R. Lloyd Jones of Carnarvon. The old chapel building was demolished in 1985 and the vestry converted into a new chapel with some of the old chapel fixtures and fittings.
RCAHMW, September 2009 - Description: Chapel founded 1859 and built 1865. Rebuilt 1900 in Romanesque style, long-wall entry type, to the design of R. Lloyd Jones of Carnarvon. Chapel demolished 1985 and vestry used for services. Status (1998): demolished.
The chapel was demolished in 1985, and the vestry converted to serve as the chapel, with windows from the front wall of the chapel re-sited in the previously unwindowed front wall of the vestry. The Sedd Fawr & pulpit and doors from the C19 chapel have been re-used and the existing iron-framed vestry benches re-used as seating. UPVC windows inserted at the rear. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
