- Summary: The first Esgair-Nant Methodist Chapel was built in 1806 and rebuilt/enlarged in 1828. In 1899 the chapel was refurbished under the supervision of carpnter John Williams of Llanfynydd and architect David Jenkins of Llandeilo. The present chapel, dated 1828, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a long-wall entrance. The building is now Grade 2 listed.
RCAHMW, August 2009 - Description: First chapel built ca. 1794 & in 1806 [another?] chapel was built; this was enlarged and rebuilt in 1828 and re-fashioned again in 1899 under the supervision of John Williams, carpenter, of Llanfynydd. Present building style is simple round-headed, long-wall entry type. Building is listed Grade 2. Status (2000): in chapel use. Date of present building1899.
From 1794 the cause met in a cottage in Esgairnant (Cadw); the chapel was first built before 1800 (1851 R. Census), but in 1806 [another?] chapel was built (date plaque & Cadw); this was enlarged and rebuilt in 1828 (date plaque & Cadw) and, apart from the wall structure, was re-fashioned again in 1899 under the supervision of John Williams, carpenter, of Llanfynydd (date plaque & Cadw). - Renovated: 1899 Source:Rawlins

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
