- Summary: Bethany Chapel was first built in 1881, then a new vestry aded in 1927 and the chapel rebuilt in 1929. The present chapel, dated 1929, was built in the Classical style of the gable entry type, to the design of John Owen Parry of Ammanford.
RCAHMW, August 2009 - Description: First chapel built 1880-1. The vestry was completed 1927 & new chapel built 1928-9 in Classical style, gable entry type, to the design of J O Parry of Ammanford. Status (2000): in chapel use.
Gable façade & part of left & right elevations, square rough dressed stonework. Quoins & arches to window & door openings including quoins to outer walls are of smooth (square) dressed sandstone. Rear buildings & rear half of chapel are of random rubble stonewalling rendered over with cement faced plastering. Roofs are of timber framing clad with Welsh slate.
Interior furnishings are of high quality & finish with good quality oak timber. The pulpit from the first chapel has been retained & in use in the vestry. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
