- Summary: Waenllan Chapel was built in 1809, modified in1841 and renovated in 1851. The chapel was rebuilt in 1884 in the Simple Gothic style of the gable entry type. By 1997 the building had become a Senior Citizens' Hall.
RCAHMW, June 2009 - Description: Chapel built 1809, rebuilt/modified 1841 & renovated 1851; it was rebuilt 1884 in the Simple Gothic style, gable entry type. Status (1997): other (Senior Citizens' Hall).
Gable façade of square rough dressed stonework with horizontal banding, arches & quoins to doorways & windows all outlined in multicoloured stonework. Side windows the same. Side & rear gable elevations of rubble stone walling rendered with cement plaster facing. Roof of timber framing clad with Welsh slate. Adjoining rear gable end is lean-to extension, probable construction; brick or blockwork (may be of recent origin) rendered over with cement plaster facing with a rough caste stucco finish. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
