- Summary: Parcyvelvet Unitarian Chapel was built 1849 in a mixed Gothic and Classic style of the gable-endl entry type. The chapel interior was altered by architect Ronald Potter Jones in 1915 but by 1976 the chapel was disused and boarded up, and in 2005 was converted into a dental surgery. The building is Grade 2 listed.

From ca. 1811-4 Unitarians hired and met in the small chapel in Porthtywyll vacated by the Baptists in 1812 (NPRN:6239). From 1824-49 they met in the Friends' Meeting House (NPRN:6242).The Parcyvelvet chapel was built in 1849 and was closely associated with the Presbyterian College (D Elwyn Davies, They thought for themselves (transl of 1982)). The chapel bears a date-stone of 1849; by 1976 its windows were boarded up (Welsh Office). Status (2000): disused.

EXTERIOR
Former Unitarian Chapel, stuccoed rubble stone with slate close-eaved roof. Shallow-gabled stuccoed façade with coped gable and cross finial. Giant Ionic pilaster each side, 2 tall pointed sash windows with margin lights and interlacing tracery [boarded over], and centre flat-headed double single- panel doors in timber Ionic pilastered surround. Moulded round plaque above doorway inscribed '' Capel Undodaidd Parcyfelfed'' and framed rectangular plaque in gable with painted inscription '' To us there is but one God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ'' and date 1849. Rubble stone sides and rear, each side with single arched window with red brick dressings set towards end wall. Rear 2 blocked pointed windows with red brick dressings. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
