- Summary: Union Street Welsh Independent Chapel was built between 1846 and 1848 and rebuilt or enlarged in 1872 by architect Thomas Thomas of Landore. The current building dates from 1872 and is built in the Gothic style following a gable entry plan. In 1997 the chapel was still in use.
RCAHMW, June 2009. - Description: A breakaway cause from Capel Heol Awst (NPRN:6232). A chapel was built in 1846 (date-stone & Lodwick, Story of Carmarthen (1972)) & opened on 27/4/1847 (Lodwick); the 1851 Religious Census gives 1848. The chapel was enlarged in 1872 (date-stone). Status (1997): in chapel use.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
