RCAHMW, June 2009. - Description: Church formed & chapel built 1811. Rebuilt/modified 1822. Rebuilt again in 1891. Status (2001): in chapel use.
The congregation of Bethania Chapel was formed & the chapel built in 1811. It was Rebuilt/modified in 1822 and the present simple gothic chapel with its half-hipped roof dates from this time. It was rebuilt again in 1891 and the swirling ironwork of the gallery front and the pews date from this time as probably does the plain-boarded ceiling. The entrance is at the end of one long wall with an end gallery above, there are four tall 'Y' traceried simple gothic windows down the cream-rendered facades. The door end has a domestic window in the lower lobby and two short gothic upper windows lighting the gallery. The pulpit is against the far gable end from the door. At the time of the 1851 Religious Census 198 seats were free and 120 paid for. The 1905 Royal Commission on Religious Buildings in Wales gave a similar number of seats of 280 and the building was then worth £1,200. Status (2001): in chapel use.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
