RCAHMW, June 2009. - Description: The chapel was built in 1867. Built in the simple Gothic style with gable-entry plan. Status (2001): in Chapel use.
A typical large urban chapel of the 1860s in the style of the prolific Welsh Independent architect, the Reverend Thomas Thomas Glandwr. It is the simple gothic style with on the main gable front to the road a central doorway and porch flanked by tall double lancet windows in a typical Thomas design of the period. Over the doorway is a gothic equivalent of an arched Venetian window with scrollwork plaque above and above that in the gable a circular attic vent with quadrefoil design. The block brick cornice following the eaves down onto corner buttresses is another Thomas design as is the use of a scroll plaque at this date. The chapel sides have three tall gothic arched windows with 'Y' tracery. The chapel was built in 1867 and is important as a good typical example of the most prolific (almost 1,000 designs) Welsh Chapels architect Thomas Thomas from Glandwr (Landore), north Swansea. Status (2001): in Chapel use.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
