- Summary: Bethel Baptist Chapel was built in 1858 and renovated in 1898 and again in 1910. The present chapel, dated 1910, was brick built in the Classical and Lombardic/Italianate style, with two storeys, a gable entry plan and perpendicular windows with florentine tracery glazing. This chapel closed in 1965 and the building was let to the Casablanca Club. By 1996 the building was up for sale, unsafe and listed for demolition.
RCAHMW, May 2012 - Description: Built in 1858 and renovated in 1898 and 1910. Built in a Italianate style, gable entry type. Closed as a Chapel in 1965. Present status [2000]: demolished Constructed as Bethal Baptist Church, originally Welsh Congregational. Congregation moved to Pomeroy Street in approx 1955, the Trustees let the building as the Casablanca Club. 2. 2-story red brick building with Bath stone dressings. Gabled front with arch spanning the central face of the facade. Five-bay front, with central bay recessed at first floor and with projecting porch to the ground floor. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
