- Summary: Roath Park Congregational was built in 1898, rebuilt in 1909-10 by architects Fawcker & Habershon of Cardiff. A Sunday School was built alongside in 1927 (replacing the former iron chapel of 1898) and the chapel was restored in 1950. The present chapel, dated 1910, is built in the Gothic style with a gable entry plan and integral tower.
Now known as Roath Park United Reform, this chapel is Grade 2 Listed for its well-integrated interior containing handsome ceiling and trusses, supported on two levels of columns with Gothic braces, elegant gallery fronts and original fittings.

MAIN NOTEWORTHY FEATURE of MAIN BUILDING / COMPLEX:
Constructed as Roath Park Congregational Chapeln 1909 with axial hall building alongside built 1927.
Very sturdy building with flat topped tower to south corner of gabled main facade. Consistent use of rhythmic, ashlar quoined buttresses to three main elevations and tower constructed in Blue pennant sandstone.
Three main doorways, all with exaggeratedly pointed gable canopies and ordered surrounds, the centre being the largest. Large traceried pointed arch main window.
Interior with magnificent roof structure including hammer beams, cast iron columns beneath and at gallery level, with axial arch-braced trusses and lateral arcuated bracing.
Magnificent decorated cast iron balcony front. Spacious,magisterial and well maintained interior.
Screen, pulpit and furniture suite all in carved oak donated as a memorial in 1947.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
