- Summary: Moriah English Baptist chapel was built in 1846 and rebuilt in its present form in 1888. This chapel is built in the Classical style with a gable entry plan and was designed by architect William Gilbert Habershon of Newport. It occupies a corner plot, facing onto Broad Street behind a railed forecourt and with an added schoolroom to the rear along George Street. The main façade is an ornate classical gabled composition with a triple doorway. It is rendered with stone dressings. The return elevation to George Street is treated in a similar style. The interior retains the pulpit and galleries, but not the pews. The schoolroom, depicted on the 1st edition OS County series (Monmouth. XII.13 1880) has stone rubble walls with dressed quoins or corner stones. This chapel became the Blaenavon Evangelical Church in 2004. It is now Grade 2 Listed as a prominent late nineteenth century town centre chapel.
RCAHMW, August 2011 - Description: Built 1846; rebuilt 1888 (cost £842). Built in the Classical style, gable entry type. Grade II Listed. Status (1995): chapel

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
