- Summary: Pen-y-Groes Independent Chapel was built in 1825, extended/rebuilt in 1842, 1883 and 1914. The schoolroom built in 1898. The present chapel, dated 1914, was built in the Arts and Craft style with a gable entry plan, ruble stone walls with a plaster facing, a slate roof, two storeys and flat headed windows with coloured glass.
RCAHMW, August 2011 - Description: The cause dates from 1823 and the chapel was built in 1825, extended or rebuilt in 1842, extended in 1883 and 1914 and the schoolroom built in 1898. Built in the Arts and Craft style, gable entry type. Status (1998): in chapel use.
Main walls of chapel & vestry/school building are of rubble stone walling rendered over with a cement plaster facing. Chapel finished in stucco. Roofs of timber framing clad with Welsh slate. Notes from I D Jones 5/4/1998.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
