- Summary: Hen Dy Cwrdd Unitarian Chapel was built in 1747, rebuilt in 1853 and largely rebuilt again, after storm damage, in 1895. The present chapel, dated 1895, is built in the Italianate style with a gable entry plan, central doorway and round headed windows with florentine tracery glazing. The chapel has two storeys, a gallery on 3 sides and a pulpit is located to the rear. This chapel was restored during the early 1990's and the front wall was rebuilt and the fenestration slightly changed in 1996. Hen Dy Cwrdd is now Grade 2 Listed for its unusual Romanesque detailed facade.
RCAHMW, July 2011 - Description: The chapel was built in 1747. It was rebuilt in 1853 (cost £434) and again after storm damage in 1896. Built in the Italinate style, gable entry type, with central doorway. This chapel is two storey with entry to the gallery situated at either side of entry. The entry to the ground floor is by two doors in partition, just of centre. The pulpit is located to the rear of the chapel. . Status (1985): in chapel use. Front wall rebuilt and fenestration slightly changed 1996 (S.R. Hughes, 27.05.2006). Date of Chapel 1996

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
