- Summary: Ebeneser (1) Independent Chapel was built .c1780 and rebuilt in 1792 by architect and builder Richard Marc. This chapel was rebuilt again in 1832 and 1855. The present chapel, dated 1855 was designed by architect Owen Morris Roberts of Porthmadog and built in the later Vernacular style with a gable entry plan, two storeys and flat headed windows. This chapel was converted into flats in 1998.
RCAHMW, May 2011 - Description: A chapel was built .c1770, rebuilt and modified 1792, architect and builder R.Marc, 1832, 1855 and 1885, architect O.Roberts of Porthmadog and builder G.Jones. Unclassified building style as the Chapel is undergoing extensive alteration but probably later vernacular style, gable entry type. Status (1998): other (converted to flats).
Converted Independent chapel with its main axis orientated north-south. Slightly set back from the Talwrn road the chapel has a pitched slate roof with ceramic ridge tiles and is constructed of coursed limestone masonry.
The north gable entrance front has rounded angles to the sides. Set within the gable is a rectangular slate tablet with the inscription "E.N.E.R. / 1855." Below is a central rectangular doorway with segmental limestone lintel. Modern steps entranced from either side lead to door (modern). Flanking central door are 4 rectangular windows (modern) set one above the other, (originally 1 single long window) within 2 continuous vertical stressed cement render architrave panels with splayed heads. Other elevations are pebble-dashed with modern fenestration to the sides.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
