- Summary: Cathdral Road Methodist Chapel was built in 1903 to the design of architect Edgar George Down of Cardiff. It is built in blue pennant sandstone in the Gothic style, with Art Nouveau details and a long-wall entry plan. The chapel has buttresses, a tall integral tower and perpendicular windows with diamond glazing. Although recently converted into the Wallich Centre for homeless people, this chapel building is Grade 2 Listed.
The congregation meets in an annexe.
RCAHMW, May 2011 - Description: Built in 1903. 1995: Used as offices The chapel has been converted into a centre for homeless people, called The Wallich Centre. The chapel is still listed as being open in the Presbyterian Yearbook, so it is possible that services are still being held in part of the building.

Massively severe vernacular Gothic building in Blue pennant sandstone with huge, battered buttresses.
Sturdily decorative to particular features, particularly porch opening surrounds.
Very tall tower with limestone ashlar top storey.
Interior gutted of fixtures and fittigs except for remnants of the organ. A suspended ceiling has been curved so that the tops of windows are still visible but not the roof structure.
An originally raked floor has been levelled with suspended construction.

'1903, by Edgar Down Melange of Gothic and art nouveau details. Faced with thin dcourses of dark brown stone; ashlar dressings. Slate roof. Parapet. Church itself of 6 bayswith vestibule at NW and vestries etc at SW end. East bay with 1 (?)centred headed window of two lights with mouchettes; relieving arch over; flanked by battered buttresses; doorway with moulded arch; clustered columns; carved spandrels; band of panelling above doorhead punctuated onion flower motif. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
