- Summary: The Presbyterian Chapel on Princess Street was built in 1885 in the Romanesque style, with a gable entry plan and tall round-headed windows. The chapel was designed by architect Richard Owens of Liverpool and is a good example of the winged chapel front style developed by Owens in the 1870's, and his stylistic mix of Gothic, Romanesque, and Italianate elements. This chapel is now Grade 2 Listed for it's fine quality stonework and work by one of the leading Welsh chapel architects.
RCAHMW, December 2010 - Description: Built in the Romanesque style, gable entry type. A prominent feature of this Chapel are the flanking turrets. Present status [1998]: Chapel Included under The Associetion in the East, Montgomery and Shropshire Presbytery, in Blwyddiadur 1995.
The Presbyterian Chapel on Princess Street replaced an earlier one that is now a private residence, Heale Hall, opposite Montgomery School. The design was by Richard Owens of Liverpool, a prominent architect of Welsh chapels, and the foundation stone was laid by David Davies on 10 April 1885. It is a good example of the winged chapel front style developed by Owens in the 1870s, the first possibly at Salem, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire in 1874. Also typical of Owens is the stylistic mix of Gothic, Romanesque, and Italianate elements. It is still in use as a chapel.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
