- Summary: Sardis Independent Chapel was first built in 1822 and then extended in 1896. The present chapel, dated 1822, is built in the Simple Gothic style with red brick walls, a slate-roof and gable-entry. A plaque in the gable apex is inscribed "Sardis/eglwys annibynwyr/ adeiladwyd 182?1/ Helaethwyd 1896". There is a Venetian style window, but with a pointed head, over a slate-roofed red-brick porch. The vestry is attached at the rear and under the same roofline. The Chapel house, formerly manse, is also at the rear. The double-fronted facade of stone has yellow brick dressings and there is a corrugated metal gable facing the road. Inside the chapel, there are three blocks of open bench seats of likely early twentieth century origin. The ceiling has partly sloping sides and exposed trusses.

Sardis was first built in 1822 and then extended in 1896. Stylistically the present chapel of the late 19th century. It is a red brick and slate-roofed gable-entry chapel. There is a 3 window right hand long wall to the road over a stone plinth. There is a buff and vitreous brick impost and cill bands arched as voussoirs over pointed window heads. The impost and cill bands continue round the flanking windows in the front gable entry. Here there is a plaque in the gable apex inscribed "Sardis/eglwys annibynwyr/ adeiladwyd 182?1/ Helaethwyd 1896". There is a Venetian style window, but with a pointed head, over a slate-roofed red-brick porch with centre gable over a doorway with cambered head of brick voussoirs over a wooden-boarded doors. Three windows are also in the chapel return.
The vestry is a red brick, 1 storey and has an attic attached at the rear and under same roofline. The Chapel house, formerly manse, also to the rear is at right angles. The double-fronted facade of stone has yellow brick dressings and there is a corrugated metal gable facing the road.
Inside the chapel, there are 3 blocks of open bench seats of likely early 20th century origin. The ceiling has partly sloping sides and exposed trusses. The pulpit is against the gable together with the vestry.
In 2003 the it was still in use as a chapel.
