- Summary: Pen-y-Groes Independent Chapel was built in 1813 and rebuilt in 1859. The later chapel was built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a long-wall entry plan. The chapel has pebbledash cladding walls, a slate roof and gabled porch with wooded-boarded doors. There is a basement and adjoining house. By 2003 this chapel was in use as a store.

Long-wall entry chapel with pebbledash cladding and slate roof; C19 decorative bargeboards to end gable and to front gabled porch, the porch gable plaque inscribed: "Penygoes/ Independent Chapel/ erected 1812/ enlarged 1858"., the last according stylistically with date or present structure. C19 round-arched windows with Y-tracery, 3 to rear wall, plus one to each side of front gabled porch, the last with Y-traceried faniight and wooden-boarded doors.
Lower vestry wing to l.h. accessed by external steps rising to two wooden-boarded doors under cambered head; cambered head to a four-pane sash window and similar head to l.h. basement door.
Adjoining house to r.h..
Inside, flat plaster ceiling with C19 cornice and ceiling rose; plain arch behind former pulpit site, which backed on to house end; two internal doors at vestry end.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
