- Summary: Carreghofa Methodist Chapel in Wern was built in 1896., in the Vernacular style with a gable entry plan, red-brick walls and a slate roof. By 2003 this chapel had been converted for use as a store.
RCAHMW, November 2010 - Description: Present building dates from 1896. Red brick & slate-roofed gable entry chapel. Gable facade with plain bargeboard & wood finial; segmentally-headed centre doorway and flanking windows now blocked, but the windows formerly late-C19 4-pane sash windows with horns, as survive in rear gable end. Plaque over blocked entrance inscribed "Primitive Methodist/ Chapel/1896". Brick eaves course in r.h. return where, at far end, a large brick vehicular porch. Inside, 2 plaster roses on flat centre section of ceiling which has sloping sides; exposed collar truss; cream-painted walls; matchboarded dado, rising up behind former pulpit where there survive a green painted arch & dove. Status (2003): other (store).

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
