- Summary: Mount Zion Methodist Chapel was built in 1837 and rebuilt in 1846. The presemt chapel, dated 1846, is built in the Vernacular style with a long-wall entry plan. Mount Zion is now Grade 2 Listed as a good example of a simple early nineteenth century chapel.
RCAHMW, November 2010 - Description: Present chapel dates from 1846, with later modifications. Stone-built & slate-roofed long-wall entry chapel with red-brick eaves band. Openings with cambered heads; central doorway with 2 C19 or earlier-C20 doors of 3 panels each; 2 tall flanking transom & mullion windows of ?early C20. Plaque over door inscribed "Mount Zion/ Chapel/ Erected 1846". Circular wood vent in roadside end gable inscribed "Wesleyan Chapel". Present status [2003]: Chapel The North Wales District Churches list for 2000 includes Berriew English Methodist Church at Cil Road, Berriew, SY21 7JP.

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
