- Summary: Rhyd-y-Felin Baptist Chapel was first built during the late eighteenth century. This was rebuilt during the mid nineteenth century, with stone walls and a slate roof. Cambered-headed openings with transom and mullion windows in the seventeenth century style, with green-glass margin panes were included. The chapel has a gable-entry facade and a gabled porch with scalloped bargeboard.
RCAHMW, November 2010 - Description: Built before 1800, chapel formed 1748. Roof raised/ chapel rebuilt in C19? Stone-built & slate-roofed, gable-entry chapel. Cambered-headed window openings with transomed & mullioned windows in C17 style, with green glass margin panes; one in gable entry facade, above gabled porch with scalloped bargeboard; 3 windows to each side, furthest one on r.h. converted to door, leading to rear vestry/ meeting room, for which a recent rear extension has been made.under the same roofline. Inside, pulpit against end wall backing on to meeting room; flanking seats facing on to pulpit. Otherwise, centre aisle & 6 or 7 rows of seats. Steep graveyard above l.h. flank of chapel. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
