- Summary: Ebeneser Independent Chapel was built in 1740 and rebuilt in 1845. The later chapel was designed by architect James Salmon of Newport and built in the Sub-Classical style with a gable entry plan, two storeys and two very large small-paned arched windows. Ebeneser is now Grade 2 Listed as an exceptionally fine and unaltered chapel.
RCAHMW, November 2010. - Description: A chapel was built 1740; it was rebuilt in 1845 to the design of the architect James Salmon. Built in the Sub-Classical style, gable entry type. Status (1998): in chapel use.
1845 stone/slate, original round head sash windows. Sub-classic gable with tall arched and triangular recesses in rubble stonework with rubble arches. Built by James Salmon. Original interior in grained woodwork. Walls and railings to forecourt. 1993 PCNPA.
The cause was founded in 1740 as a branch of Brynberian (Cadw). A chapel was built before 1800 (1851 R. Census); it was rebuilt in 1844 (1851 R. Census) or 1845 (date plaque; PCNPA) to the design of the architect (PCNPA) or Newport builder (Cadw), James Salmon (Cadw; PCNPA). Status (1998): in chapel use. - Built: 1845 Source:Plaque

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
