- Summary: Carvan Independent Chapel was built in 1797, rebuilt in 1833 and renovated in 1873. The present chapel, dated 1833, was built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a long-wall entry plan. Carvan is now Grade 2 Listed as a complete early nineteenth century chapel with a virtually unaltered interior.

Stone/slate hipped roof. Primitive façade. Fine 1830's slate gravestones. Stone walled surroundnow rendered. 1993 PCNPA.
The chapel was built in 1787 (1851 R. Census) or 1792 (date plaque, Cadw, PCNPA) and registered in 1797. The present chapel was built in 1832-3 by Thomas Thomas, builder, during the Ministry of The Rev. John Lloyd. 1830s slate gravestones. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
