RCAHMW, October 2010 - Description: The chapel was built after 1736; it was re-fashioned or rebuilt in 1763, enlarged in 1842 & renovated into the present building in 1883, gable entry type. Status (1998): chapel Painted rendered stone and slate. Gable entry. Fine Victorain interior with cast iron galleries. Original fenestration. 1993 PCNPA.
Small gable end façade chapel of great historical rather than architectural heritage. The chapel history claims it as the first English Baptist chapel in Wales! And claims foundation in 1668 as an offshoot of the predominantly Welsh Baptist chapel at Rhydwilym. These Molleston Baptists met in a house in Molleston in 1729 until the chapel was built.
Good plaque indicates the first chapel 1731 built at the expense of Thomas George, Molleston ("Moles -town").
(Anthony Jones)
In the C17 adherents had met in a farmyard loft at Roeside (Cadw), the cause at Molleston beginning in 1664 (RCCEORBWM) or 1667 (Cadw). The church (chapel) was formed in 1731 (1998 Llawlyfr of Undeb Bedyddwyr Cymru, & plaque), and a chapel built after 1736 (Cadw); it was re-fashioned or rebuilt in 1763 (1851 R. Census), after new 999-year lease of 1754 (Cadw), enlarged in 1842 & renovated into the present building in 1883. Status (1998): in Baptist use. - Renovated: 1883 Source:PCNPA

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
Saira
