- Summary: Penuel Methodist Chape; was built in 1825, modified in 1838, rebuilt in 1865, and renovated 1911-13. The present chape;, dated 1865, was built to the design of architect Thomas Thomas of Landore, in the Classical style with a gable-entry plan, two storeys, basement and large arch in the facade. RCAHMW, September 2010 - Description: Built in 1825, modified, altered or rebuilt 1838, 1865, 1904, 1911-13, architetcs Habershon & Fawckner of Newport. Built in the Classical style, gable entry type. A prominent feature of this Chapel is the large arch in the facade. Present status [1996]: other (2003): scout hall
Stylistically the main facade and recessed windows on side walls suggest that the external design was by Thomas Thomas of Glandwr/Landore, Swansea, in 1865 when he was active in the area at the peak of his career (Stephen Hughes, 27.07.06).
Chapel built 1863 with detached late C19th Sunday school below to NE. within walled yard. The Sunday school has a gable-entry plan, 3-bay façade with 3 round-headed windows over a central entrance & C19th datestone in gable. The NE side is of 5 bays with 4 round-headed windows and a segmental headed doorway towards the rear. The building is rendered, probably over stone with brick dressings to openings and corners.

Hello
My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website. I have now located it on Google Street View – looks like someone is ‘doing it up’ to live in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2612635,-3.1095337,3a,90y,232.95h,84.26t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-8DWPORkq2RFVNXBLde_-g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i53?hl=en-GB
The marriage record of my ancestors Abraham Bounds and Elizabeth Williams is attached. I hope it is of interest.
All the best
