- Summary: Sardis Independent Chapel was built in 1834, rebuilt in 1852 and modified in 1885. The present chapel, dated 1852, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style of the gable-entry type. Sardis is now Grade 2 Listed for the architectural interest of its mid nineteenth century exterior and the fine early twentieth century interior.
RCAHMW, August 2010 - Description: Built in 1834, modified, altered or rebuilt 1852 and 1885. Built in the Simple Round-Headed style, gable entry type. Present status [2002]: unknown Sardis had a Mission room/Schoolroom branch which held 200 sittings and cost 650 - location unknown, believed to be in Pont-Y-Pridd parish. My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
