- Summary: Hermon Methodist Chapel was first built before 1780, rebuilt in 1825 and rebuilt again in 1862. The present chapel, dated 1862, was built in the Classical style with a gable-entry plan, two storeys and tall round-headed windows. Hermon is now Grade 2 Listed
RCAHMW, August 2010 - Description: Built in 1799, modified, altered or rebuilt 1825, 1862, architect R.Roberts (cost £2245). Built in the Classical style, gable entry type. Present status [1998]: Chapel "By conveyance of 8th June 1782 a dwelling house and garden in Newcastle were conveyed to trustees for use (with any other buildings errected on site) as a meeting house for the worship of God.
A later deed of 19th July 1862, provides some further information".(Ref. H J Randall).
I assume that the above note refers to Bethesda, in the Census, which was subsequently rebuilt on this site as Hermon in 1862. GAW 1999. - Dated: 1862 Source:Cadw (plaque)

My great great grandparents were married in Kinnerton Chapel in Old Radnor on 21st May1850. I have been searching for information on the Chapel, so was pleased to find this website.
